Luck smiles on CAB
HYDERABAD,
SEPT. 6.
Luck smiled on Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) when the spin of coin enabled it to enter the semifinals of the all-India Coromandel King Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament after the final day's play was washed out against India Cements at NFC Grounds here today.
It may be recalled that India Cements was bowled out for 108 in the first innings to which CAB replied with 69 for three on the second day.
The scores:
At Gymkhana: Hyderabad 61 for one vs Assam. Match abandoned.
At NFC: India Cements 108 vs CAB 69 for three. Final day's play washed out. CAB declared winner by spin of coin.
At HMWSSB: Chemplast 160 drew with KSCA 161 for three in 57.3 overs (Robin Uthappa 31, Rowland Barrington 80, Deepak Chougule 36 not out). KSCA declared winner by virtue of first innings lead.
At ECIL: Vidarbha 165 drew with MRF 267 in 89.1 overs (Sandeep Singh six for 65, Preetam Gandhe four for 85). MRF won by virtue of first innings lead.
