SIEMA commends trade policy

COIMBATORE: The Southern India Engineering Manufacturers' Association has commended the new foreign trade policy saying that it is "industry-friendly" and "will definitely promote the export opportunities." According to the SIEMA President, C. R. Swaminathan, simplification of procedures will encourage more manufacturers to come into the export map. The permission for import of second-hand capital goods without any age restriction is a boon to the industry. This will help the industry import the required machinery. — Our Staff Reporter
