Savarkar row

Sir, — By saying "Savarkar was a patriot to a Hindu nation, I am patriot to an Indian nation" (Sept. 6), Mani Shankar Aiyar seems to indirectly endorse the two-nation theory. All those who fought for India's freedom, whether under the Congress or any other banner, were all patriots and deserve to be remembered and honoured as such.

S. Gurumurthy,
Chennai
