KOLLAM, SEPT. 6. The Kollam Jawahar Bal Bhavan Staff Union has said that unless the State Government urgently intervened, the Bal Bhavan here would close down. At a press conference here today the association president, V. Sajikumar, and the secretary, A. Harris, said that lack of a proper administrative set up has pushed the Bal Bhavan into a crisis.
Added to that the resignation of the executive director of the Bal Bhavan, K. Raveendranathan Nair, citing personal reasons has come as a major blow to the functioning of the institution. They alleged that even as the financial situation remains alarming, there are several instances of financial misappropriation.
They called upon the State Government to conduct an inquiry into the affairs of the institution.
