Woman throws children into Godavari, ends life

KAKINADA,
SEPT. 6.
A woman, vexed with her husband's `wayward' behaviour, threw her two children into Vynateya branch of the Godavari near Razole in the Konaseema region in the wee hours of Sunday before ending her life by jumping into the water. Bodies of Chittamenu Venkatalakshmi (30), her daughter, Gangavati (4), and Balaji (11 months) have been retrieved from the river. The incident came out in the open when the boy's body got caught in the net of fishermen. According to the police, Venkatalakshmi threw her children into the swirling water and later jumped into the river.
