Woman ends life

A pregnant woman, Revathi (19), committed suicide by hanging herself in her in-laws house at Moosarambagh on Monday. Shocked by the incident, her husband, Upendra, jumped from the roof of the house.

He sustained serious head injuries. He was shifted to Osmania General Hospital. Doctors said his condition was critical.

Upendra told police that he returned home in the afternoon and found the bedroom bolted from inside. Upon forcing it open, Revathi's body was found hanging from the ceiling.

Fake note racket busted

The Hyderabad Police Task Force (north) team, led by Inspector, B. Wilson, busted a counterfeit currency racket with the arrest of five persons at Jubilee bus-station in Secunderabad on Monday.

Fake currency worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs, a printer, a copier and other incriminating materials were seized from the arrested, according to a press release.

Bar raided

The Task Force (central) team raided Dhun bar at Paigah Plaza in Basheerbagh and arrested its manager and seven female dancers on charges of organising and performing obscene dances.

The bar owner, P. Sridhar Rao, was absconding, according to a press release.

The arrested were handed over to the Saifabad police.
