Rain likely

Tuesday's skies will be generally cloudy. Rain or thundershowers are likely towards the evening or night, according to the weather forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department.

On Monday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 22.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18.7 degrees Celsius. The rainfall was 0.7 mm, the relative humidity was 88 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum temperature was 23.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 18.4 degrees Celsius. Rainfall was 0.5 mm and the relative humidity 83 per cent.

Power cut

There will be no power supply on September 7 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Bilekahalli, Arekere, Hulimavu, Kodichikkanahally, Devarachikkanahally, Golden Gate Apartments, N.S. Palya, Begur, HSBC, B.C.Road, Ranka Apartments, Mantri Apartments and surrounding areas, according to a BESCOM press release. To file complaints consumers may call 1600338017/12660 free of cost.

Elected

M. Manjunath has been elected president of the Adarsha Auto and Taxi Driver's Union. The other office bearers include A. Arogyaswami (vice-president), B.S. Narayanamurthy (general secretary), H.L. Hoovappagowda (organising secretary) and Javaregowda (treasurer).

The Office of the Commissioner for Disabilities, along with Alternative Law Forum, is providing free legal services to persons with disabilities at the Commissioner's office at 40, Thambuchetty Road, Cox Town on every Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
