The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Monday were 37 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degrees Celsius, while Palam recorded a maximum of 37.3 and a minimum of 24.8 degrees Celsius. While the maximum and minimum humidity recorded at Safdarjung was 82 per cent and 33 per cent respectively, Palam recorded a maximum humidity of 84 per cent and a minimum of 39 per cent.
Robbery cases
Kamal, who works in the mess of Gandhi Nagar police station, was returning Bhikam Singh Colony home around 12-30 a.m. when four miscreants intercepted him near a vacant police booth. The culprits stabbed him thrice in the stomach and fled with Rs. 4,500 he was carrying. The police said Kamal was admitted to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where he is stated to be in serious condition. In another case reported around 10-30 a.m. today, a petrol pump employee and his colleague were going to deposit Rs. 3.8 lakhs in the Central Bank when two persons on a motorcycle intercepted them in the Karkardooma village area of Anand Vihar. Before the two could gauge the intention of the miscreants, one of them threw chilly powder in their eyes, snatched a bag containing the money from them and then the culprits fled from the scene.
Suicide case
Nar Bahadur (30) and his wife Laxmi (28) apparently took their lives by hanging themselves from the ceiling according to the police. No suicide note was found on the spot. When the two did not emerge from the room all day the neighbours got suspicious and called the police.
