HUBLI, SEPT. 7. A day-long Krishna Janmashtami celebration was organised under the auspices of the ISKCON (International Society of Krishna Consciousness) at the Revankar Kalyan Mantap in Hubli on Tuesday. The day started with a fancy dress competition among the children on "Krishna Leela". There was a recital of devotional songs by Puttur Narasimha Naik, followed by special palanquin yatra of Lord Krishna. A special yakshagana performance on the theme of Krishna's birth and "Kamsa Vadha" was organised. The Deputy Commissioner, Gourav Gupta, gave away prizes to the winners of the ISKCON heritage fest held a week ago and of inter-school competition. Rajiv Lochan Das, ISKCON Hubli president, spoke.
