Letters to the Editor
Sir, The article, "Train No. 6010" (Sept. 5), made for delightful reading. As one who has travelled on the Chennai-Mumbai Mail, and also bitten into some of the tastiest chikkoos while on the train, I could immediately identify with the contents of the article. Travelling on the trundling Mail gives me a sense of history for it is one of the oldest trains to run between the two cities. As perhaps an indicator of its vintage, the train continues to be officially referred to as the Bombay/Madras Mail. It has a true tropical touch, taking frequent breathers by stopping at the tiniest of stations!
V. Ramanujam,
