BELLARY, SEPT. 7. Sri Mahantswamiji of Chittargi Samsthana Math, Ilkal, had to return without meeting those arrested in connection with the violence and lodged in the Central Jail here. The swamiji and a few other swamijis arrived here at 6 p.m., which was well past visiting hours. The swamiji said he would return to Ilkal and return on Wednesday to meet the arrested persons. According to information available, a majority of those arrested did not want to meet the swamiji. S.G. Patil, Assistant Commissioner, Bagalkot, L.B. Sirguppi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Marji, Deputy Director Food and Civil Supplies, escorted the swamiji.
