HASSAN, SEPT. 7. Employees of the Hassan District Central Cooperative Bank (HDCCB) boycotted work on Tuesday in protest against the alleged attack on the bank's managing director, D.C. Nagarajaiah, by a few dismissed bank employees. The employees staged a demonstration in front of the bank's head office on Bangalore-Mangalore Road as part of their protest. The employees also took out a silent procession before submitting a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, K.H. Ashwathanarayana Gowda, seeking action against the culprits. The 25 branches of the bank in the district did not conduct any transaction for the day. M.D. Ramana Reddy has been transferred to Hassan in place of Mr. Nagarajaiah, according to official sources.
