Loyola, Stella Maris take honours

PERUNDURAI, SEPT. 7. Chennai teams Loyola College and Stella Maris won the men and women's table tennis titles on the third day of the fifth State-level tournaments for the Kongu Trophy here on Tuesday.

The results:

Men: Badminton: Dr. GRD CAS bt Kongu Arts 3-0; PSGCAS bt MCPE 3-1. Basketball: St. Joseph's bt Gandhigram 59-35, Loyola bt AVS 53-33, MCC bt AC Tech 61-16. Kabaddi: National College bt Gandhigram 39-21; St. Joseph's bt Kandan 57-25; AVS bt Kongu Arts 39-36. Volleyball: Kongu Engg bt PSGCAS 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 28-26; YMCA bt Gandhigram 25-15, 25-17, 26-24.

Women: Badminton: MOP Vaishnav bt Maharaja College 2-0. Volleyball: PKR College bt GVGCW 25-14, 25-23, 25-22; MOP Vaishnav bt Kongu EC 25-20, 25-23, 25-21; Dr. GRDCAS bt Vellalar EC 25-2, 25-9, 25-6; Ethiraj College bt Sri Saradha College 25-11, 25-10, 25-8.
