CHENNAI, SEPT. 7. The Kumara Rajah MAM Muthiah Chettiar Birthday Commemoration Award for 2004 has been awarded to the 37-year-old Tamil Nadu Association for the Blind. Asir Nalla Thambi, president of the Tondiarpet-based association, received the award from the Trust's Patron, M.A.M. Ramaswamy, at a function organised by the Raja Sir Annamalai Chettiar Memorial Trust here on Monday. A former judge of the Supreme Court, S. Natarajan, who was the chief guest, recalled the contribution of the Chettinad royal family to Tamil Nadu and services to society in various fields. The occasion also marked the 76th birth anniversary of M.A.M. Muthiah Chettiar.
