UDUPI, SEPT. 7. Sri Krishna Jayanti was celebrated with traditional pomp and gaiety here on Monday night while the Sri Krishna Leelotsava or "Vittal Pindi'' was celebrated on Tuesday. Sri Krishna Temple was teeming with devotees on both days. The "Muddu Krishna" competitions were held at various places. The celebrations began at midnight on Monday. Sri Vishwapriya Tirtha of Paryaya Admar Math offered "arghya" at the temple. Hundreds of devotees stood in a long queue to offer "arghya" and prayers at the temple. After passing through the Car Street, the idol was immersed at the Madhwa Sarovar in the Sri Krishna Temple. Vidyasagara Tirtha of Krishnapur Math and Vishwapriya Tirtha were present.
