HYDERABAD, SEPT. 7. A Judge of the State High Court, B. Prakash Rao, on Tuesday dismissed the batch of writ petitions filed by various restaurants in the city challenging the orders of the Police Commissioner on amusement licence. Several restaurant managements approached the police seeking permission to host shows to amuse their customers. The Police Commissioner rejected the applications on various grounds, including lack of minimum parking facilities, non-adherence to fire safety rules, public nuisance, etc. The managements challenged the order. Mr. Justice Prakasha Rao declared that the police acted within the law and cogent reasons had been shown.
