COIMBATORE, SEPT. 7. Irate residents and farmers on Monday collected funds from the residents, farmers and started laying Sundakkamuthur - Puttuvikki Road near Ukkadam protesting against the delay in re-laying the road by the local body. The villagers led by district president of Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangham, Vazhukkuparai Balu, mobilised tractors to fetch sand and hired an earthmover for re-laying the road. More than 100 farmers and villagers took part in the work. They now expect the administration to come forward at least in blacktopping the road.
