This Day That Age
The President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, has appointed Mr. Khandubhai Kasanji Desai, M.P., as a Cabinet Minister on the advice of the Prime Minister, a press communiqué issued from Rashtrapati Bhavan said. Another communiqué issued later states that Mr. Khandubhai Desai will, on assuming office, be in charge of the Ministry of Labour. He will be sworn in on September 10. Mr. Desai (56) is an influential Congress leader from Gujarat. He takes the place of Mr. V.V.Giri, who resigned a few days ago.
