Chamber, U.K. forum sign MoU

KOZHIKODE: The U.K.-based East Midlands Ethnic Forum and the Malabar Chamber of Commerce have signed a memorandum of understanding for better commercial utilisation of farm produces in the State to meet the growing demand for Indian food and food products in foreign countries. The MoU in which the Kerala Industrial Infrastructural Development Corporation (Kinfra) is a facilitator is aimed at enabling the partners to exchange information to enhance bilateral trade and technology transfer and create opportunities for joint ventures. Nainesh Patel, Chairman, East Midlands Ethnic Food Forum, said the popularity of Indian food in the U.K. had grown so much that on an average a British family took three Indian meals every week. Priyesh Patel, Managing Director of Co-Fresh, Indu Palaniappan, senior trade and investment advisor, British Commission, G. C. Gopala Pillai, Managing Director, Kinfra, and J. A. Majeed, President, Malabar Chamber of Commerce, also spoke. — Our Special Correspondent
