Ranjith shines

MADURAI, SEPT. 8. Ranjith's five for 20 helped S.R. Naidu College, Sattur, defeat MAVMM College by four wickets and enter the final of the Madurai Kamaraj University `A' Zone inter-collegiate cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

The scores (Semifinals): MAVMM College 124 in 21 overs (Sheriff 44, Mayuran 31, Ranjith five for 20) lost to SRNM College 125 for six in 19 overs (Ranjith 30).

MKU College 156 for six in 25 overs (Sheik Abdullah 58, Rajesh Kannan 38) bt Saraswathy Narayanan College 130 in 23.3 overs (Prabakaran 28, Rajesh Kannan three for 12, Arun three for seven).
