MEG outplays ADE
BANGALORE,
SEPT. 8.
Long before the skies opened up for a fitful spell of evening showers, MEG had sealed a well-merited 3-0 victory over ADE in the super division football league here today.
ADE did reasonably well in the first half to prevent a strike from MEG. But things were rather different in the second session. The forwardline functioned with far more assurance and purposeand the result was striking.
Jiten caused the first round of ripples in the ADE defence making the most of a good cross from Nanda. The first goal provider turned goal scorer, when Nanda deftly worked his way past an advancing goalkeeper Saravana. The third goal came when an unmarked Lokesh's header brushed the crossbar and went in.
A minute's silence was observed before the start of the match in memory of N.M. Somanna, a life member of the Karnataka Football Association, who passed away recently.
Earlier in an A division tie, Karthik's brace helped Rail Wheel Factory beat 515 Army Base Workshop 2-1.
