UN seminar ends
The aim of the seminar was to prepare police officers for senior managerial posts in UN CIVPOL missions. The centre has trained more than 1,200 police officers of various States and Central police forces since its inception. Delivering the valedictory speech, the Director-General of ITBP, K.J. Singh, expressed the hope that "the training would equip the officers with the required skills to take up the challenges of UN CIVPOL mission". Around 32 senior police officers from 18 countries attended the seminar.
`Swabhimaan Diwas' celebrated
Major Rathore addressed the students and felicitated the young sport stars of the school. The member of the India Olympic Association, Sushil Datt Salwan, promised a "Bruno rifle" signed by Major Rathore to any Salwanian who reaches the Asian Games level in shooting in the coming years. The Chairman of the School, Harpal Singh, was also present at the function.

Swami Sivananda remembered
The NCO Chairman, N.P. Seshadri, paying rich tributes to Swamiji for spreading spiritualism and the message of Vedanta throughout the world through his powerful writings and publications, recalled that on this day way back in 1952 he had the privilege to present an address on Swamiji's 66th birthday at Rishikesh "when Swamiji delivered a thrilling address". NCO has been celebrating this day every year with great elan. From next year a `Swami Sivananda Award' would be presented to a spiritualist, Dr. Seshadri announced.
