Travel firm

worker robbed

Aizaz Khan, a worker of a private travels, lost Rs. 1.5 lakhs in cash when unidentified persons took away the money from side box of his scooter that was parked at the Khairatabad MCH office on Tuesday. A resident of Chota Bazar, Khan went to ICICI Khairatabad branch and encashed a cheque for Rs. 1.5 lakhs on instructions of his boss, the Saifabad police said. On way to the office, he halted at the MCH office, went inside and returned 15 minutes later, only to find the scooter's side box open and the cash stolen.

Rs. 1 lakh stolen from Kamat

Thieves broke into Kamat Restaurant located in NTR Estate at Abids and took away Rs. 1 lakh from an almirah on Tuesday. The hotel manager, Rishikesh Uchila, lodged a complaint with the Abids police saying that the culprits entered the hotel from rear side. The police are probing whether any of the hotel workers was involved in the offence.

46 held for

eve-teasing

Police Task Force officials arrested 46 youngsters on the charge of indulging in eve-teasing at different places in the city on Tuesday. The officials would counsel parents of the arrested persons, a press release said here on Wednesday. The police were contemplating organising meetings with college managements and teachers to alert the police if they come across incidents of eve-teasing and ragging.

Man robbed

of Rs. 15,000

A resident of HCL township in Cherlapalli, M. Mahender Reddy (42), lost Rs. 15,000 when some offenders picked his pocket while he was travelling in an APSRTC bus (route no. 250/49M) on Tuesday. The victim boarded the bus at Cherlapalli and was going to Panjagutta. He noticed the theft when the bus reached Greenlands, the Panjagutta police said.

Jewellery taken away

Thieves took away a handbag containing Rs. 15,000 worth jewellery and Rs. 3,000 in cash belonging to Salinder Singh, wife of Wing Commander, S. Singh, when she went to Abids for shopping on Tuesday. Mrs. Singh noticed the theft when she was in a footwear shop and lodged a complaint with the Abids police.
