THE CITY's B.M.S. College of Engineering recently hosted the 13th annual symposium of the Melton Foundation, a network of international students. About 120 students and faculty members from the foundation's member institutions participated in the event. The foundation was brought to life by William Melton, a successful entrepreneur and venture capitalist, and his wife, Patricia Smith Melton. They had reasoned that if bright youth from divorce cultures were given access to the latest communication tools and made to interact with the core values of friendship, open communication and mutual respect in mind, a group of empowered students who can make a positive difference to the world would emerge. Besides the BMS College, the foundation is associated with Freidrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany; Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China; University of La Frontera, Temuco, Chile, and Dillard University, New Orleans, United States.
