Temperature

MADURAI, SEPT.8. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 35.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam today stood at 116.4 feet with a meagre inflow of 308 cusecs. The discharge was 913 cusecs. The storage in the dam was 2339 mcft.

Similarly, the level in the Vaigai dam is going down. It stood at 40.88 feet with an inflow of 504 cusecs and a discharge of 930 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 2918 mcft.

Peranai received a maximum rainfall of 17.5 mm, followed by the Sathaiyar dam - 8, and Aundipatti and the Periyar dam - 4 each.
