TIRUCHI, SEPT.8. The Tiruchi District Retired Officials Association urged the Tiruchi Corporation to reconsider its decision of charging Rs.1,000 for using the electric crematorium, as it was on the higher side. A resolution to this effect was adopted at its meeting held here yesterday. Another resolution pleaded for the continuation of Tiruchi district under the jurisdiction of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. The president, G. Palaniandi explained the various steps taken for getting the first instalment of the arrears of pension as per the government order. The secretary, P. Subramanian, joint secretary, T.V. Krishnamoorthy also spoke.
