TIRUCHI, SEPT. 8 . Scouts and Guides, Junior Red Cross volunteers and NCC cadets of Mukkulathor Higher Secondary School participated in an eye donation awareness rally organised by the District Blindness Control Society at Tiruverumbur here today. The rally was taken out in connection with the 19th National Eye Donation Fortnight and Eye Donation Day. The Joint Director of Health Services, Adikrishnan, flagged off the rally from the school premises in the presence of the Additional General Manager, BHEL, A. Govindasamy. The participants carried placards and banners stressing the importance of eye donation. Earlier at a meeting held with the headmaster of the school, N. Periasamy, in the chair, Dr. Adikrishnan, Govindasamy and Selvaraj, who was playing a major role in promoting eye donation concept, called upon students to play a big role in promoting this concept among the common people.
