Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to Census 2001. The BJP president, Venkaiah Naidu, and other party leaders have voiced their concern over what they call the alarming growth rate of the Muslim population. Politicising the raw data is dangerous for the country. Analysis and interpretation of data are done for social benefit and not for political gains. Let the mammoth Census exercise serve the purpose it ought to.
S. Narasimhan,
Sir, It is not important which community has registered a higher growth rate of population. It is the Indian population growth that must be checked for a better future for our children.
Mahesh Kapasi,
