9 killed in Jakarta blast

JAKARTA, SEPT. 9. A car bomb exploded near the Australian embassy here today (see picture), killing nine persons and injuring over 160. Police blamed the Jemaah Islamiyah, the Southeast Asian terror network linked to the Al-Qaeda. — AP
