CHENNAI, SEPT. 9. The Consortium of Self-Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu has uploaded application forms (www.tnsfconsortium.org) to enable candidates to apply on-line for admission to management quota seats in unaided engineering colleges. They can submit the filled-in forms to the respective colleges before Sunday (September 12) to facilitate the commencement of admissions before September 20. "We will fully comply with the orders of the Madras High Court and the format of the application has been designed as directed by the court," Jeppiaar, consortium president, told newspersons here today. The forms (Rs.100 each) would also be made available by Friday at all 60 centres where the students wrote the entrance examinations. Those who could not access the Internet might get this form.
"The merit list would be prepared on the directive of the Madras High Court and we do not want any further delay in admissions," Mr. Jeppiaar said. Nearly 29,800 seats would be filled up. The combined merit list arrived at with the scores given by candidates in the applications would be displayed in all member-colleges within 10 days.
Fee payment
E. Balagurusamy, Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, announced that in view of yesterday's High Court judgment dispensing with the single-window system of counselling and admission to management quota seats, the last date for payment of fees for candidates who were allotted B.E./B. Tech seats was extended till September 30. All the colleges were directed to admit the students accordingly, Prof. Balagurusamy said in a press release.
