Demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 9. The Association of Kerala Government College Teachers has asked the Government to sanction at least one course each in all the Government colleges. For the last three years no new courses had been sanctioned in any college. Of late, the Government has decided to sanction a course each in 17 colleges. However, five districts have been left out, with no college in these districts having a new course, said J. Prasad, the general secretary of the Association.

Seminar

The Minister for Health, K. K. Ramachandran, today inaugurated a seminar on `Mental Health Awareness' in connection with the World Suicide day being observed on September 10. The seminar was organised by the Lions Clubs International--District 324 E 1.The Minister lauded the initiative of the Lions Clubs in taking up a major project like prevention of suicides.
