WARANGAL, SEPT. 10. A case was registered against cine actor, G. Mahesh Babu, who reportedly raided a video parlour and damaged the furniture and videocassettes. The Matwada police registered cases against Mahesh Babu, the director of the film Arjun, Gunasekhar, Kumar of Sandhya film distributors, D Rambabu, G. Naveen, U. Anil and D. Jitender of the Mahesh Fans Association. The actor was here on September 9 to take part in a film function. He reportedly raided one Sony Video Mixing centre and snatched videocassettes, alleging that they were pirated. The fans went berserk and damaged furniture, televisions and other electronic gadgets all worth Rs. 25,000. A videographer, Rama Kiran, and Sony video proprietor, B. Ramesh, lodged a complaint against the accused. The police took some persons into custody. Matwada SI Ravindra Kumar is investigating the case. Our Legal Correspondent adds from Hyderabad: T. Ch. Surya Rao, Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday directed the police not to arrest Mahesh Babu and Gunasekhar till Monday. He was hearing a petition filed by the duo, seeking anticipatory bail. The case will be listed on Monday.
