NEW DELHI, SEPT. 10. In a mixed day for Indian shuttlers, Saina Nehwal and Trupti Murgunde entered the quarterfinals but the challenge in the men's section came to an end in the Asian Satellite badminton championship in Singapore on Friday. Murgunde defeated Ngoc Nguyen Nhung Le of Vietnam 11-0, 13-12 in 30 minutes, while Nehwal overcame Yi Ju Chiu of Chinese Taipei 11-8, 3-11, 13-12 in the second round. Nehwal will now play the top seed Li Li of Singapore, while Murunde will take on second-seeded Salakjit Polsana of Thailand.
Men's singles (second round): Anup Sridhar lost to Yogendran Krishnan 17-14, 15-6; J.B.S. Vidyadhar lost to Mohammed Nazree Latifi 15-5, 15-9: Arvind Bhat lost to Saman Ismail 15-3, 17-14.
Mixed doubles (third round): Vidyadhar/Nehwal bt Nitipong Saengsila/Duanganong Aroonkesorn 15-11, 10-15, 15-13; Sanave Thomas/Shruti Kurian bt Thanh Hai Tran/Thi Thanh Tran 10-15, 15-4, 15-5.
Women's doubles (third round): Nehwal/Sharada Govardhani lost to Shinta Sari/Aiying Xing 15-2, 15-0. PTI
