Aiyar asks CMs to reduce sales tax on petro products

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 10. The Petroleum Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyar, has written to all the Chief Ministers to lower the sales tax rates on petroleum products to help contain inflation. This was disclosed by him at a meeting with the West Bengal Petroleum Dealers Association led by their working president, Tushar Kanti Ghosh.

Mr. Aiyar was responding to issues raised by the association, including a plea for reducing sales tax on petrol and petroleum products in different States.
