GUNTUR, SEPT. 10. The greenery developed by the ITC's Indian Leaf Tobacco Division (ILTD), Guntur, on the road divider from the Hindu College to the Kankaragunta Railway Gate was inaugurated by the District Collector, K. Ramakrishna Rao, on Friday.

The District Collector appreciated the efforts of the ILTD in giving the city a facelift in cooperation with the Guntur Municipal Corporation.

The ILTD had donated Rs. 20 lakhs to the greenery project. The median was reconstructed by raising its height and new saplings and green patches of velvet grass planted. The ILTD Guntur Chief Executive, S. Janardhana Reddy, said the ITC believed in clean surroundings, and had, in addition to maintaining its own premises, been contributing to the facelift of the city.
