Levi's exclusive store in Goa

PANAJI, SEPT. 11. The Bangalore-based Levi Strauss (India) Pvt., Ltd., has opened its first exclusive store for the Levi's brand at Panaji, Goa, on Friday.

The new Original Levi's Store, designed as per the global retail format of Levi's provides consumers an international shopping experience, claimed Atul Kumar from the Levi. Having loads of attitude with 3,000 sq. ft. floor area, the store has an attractive ladies' section.

Mr. Kumar, who is the Brand Head of Levi's Sykes range of products, told reporters here that Levi intends to increase the number of exclusive stores from the present 50 to 100 by November 2005 and that of multi-brand stores from 400 to 600 all over the country.

Mr. Kumar noted that Goa was one of India's most happening places.

Apart from being the preferred destination for vacations among Indians, Goa also attracts a huge number of foreign tourists who are well aware of Levi's. He further said that Goa was a high potential market for Levi's, as it comprised a fashion conscious market.

Levi's products were cheaper by 50 per cent in India when compared to the West, he clamed.

Goa would provide a good market for Levi's products, he added.
