CHENNAI, SEPT. 11. Bharat Overseas Bank Limited (BOBL) announced the launch of anywhere banking from September 10. Addressing presspersons here on Friday, G. Krishna Murthy, Chairman, said the bank had crossed yet another milestone in providing customers the benefit of convenience banking. IBM, I-flex Solutions, HCL Comnet and HMA STARware were the technical partners associated with this project. While IBM Global provided the system integration, I-flex Solutions, was the solution provider with its flagship financial services product `Flexcube'. The bank had tied up with India Switch Company of HMA group for ATM switching services while HCL Comnet would be the networking partner. The bank was offering core banking solutions through 60 of its 85 branches and the intention was to cover all the branches by the end of this year, the Chairman said. The bank was in the process of networking all its branches and Internet banking would be launched as an extension of anywhere banking shortly, Mr. Krishna Murthy said. The bank was planning to take up distribution of mutual fund products, Mr. Krishna Murthy said.
