Scribe assaulted

By Our Staff Reporter

KURNOOL, SEPT. 11. A reporter of a Telugu television channel, Satyanarayana Raju, was assaulted by a group of people in the old city here on Saturday, when he went there to interview a person in connection with a job racket.

Mr. Raju was allegedly assaulted by Mirja Ali Beig Ansar at Kadakpura, an accused in the job racket. The reporter complained to the police but as they did not respond immediately, journalists staged a dharna in front of the office of the Superintendent of Police demanding action against the accused. The journalists withdrew their stir after the SP, V.R.K. Mohan Rao, assured them of action against the accused. A case was registered against Ansar.
