PITLAM (NIZAMABAD DT.) SEPT. 11. The Minister for Rural Development and APCC president, D. Srinivas, on Saturday criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief and Union Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, saying it was unbecoming of Mr. Rao to make allegations against the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, on the separate Telangana issue.
Doubtful claims
When media persons sought to draw his attention on Mr Rao's remarks, he said people were not in a position to believe the TRS chief's claims on Sonia Gandhi's assurances regarding bifurcation of the State. Mr. Srinivas, arrived here on Saturday to review arrangements in connection with the Chief Minister's `Rajiv Palle Bata' programme in Jukkal and Banswada constituencies scheduled for September 19. He made it clear that the APCC would not remain silent if the TRS chief kept on criticising Ms. Gandhi. The MP, Madhu Goud Yaskhi, the MLAs -- S. Gangaram (Jukkal), and B. Govardhan (Banswada) -- and a host of local leaders accompanied the PCC chief.
Inspects structures
During his visit to Nizamsagar, Pitlam, Banswada and Bichkunda, he inspected all structures to be inaugurated and foundations to be laid by the Chief Minister on September 19. He said the Chief Minister would extensively tour Banswada and Jukkal constituencies and stay overnight at Banswada. He will leave for Hyderabad on September 20. Later, in the evening the Minister reviewed the progress of developmental activities and reports to be submitted to the Chief Minister, with the district officials.
Confusing talk: CPI(M)
NALGONDA: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member, Koratala Satyanarayana, has said the TRS chief, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, is "making inconsistent statements" to confuse public on Telangana issue. "Yesterday he said the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, according to him is a goddess and was game for a separate state. Today he said he would take to streets if the demand, is not met. He is creating confusion with his inconsistent statements," he said while addressing a public meeting held by the CPI(M) as part of the victory celebrations of Telangana peasants' armed struggle here on Saturday. He alleged that Mr. Rao had forgot the backwardness of Telangana while he was in the TDP. The party leaders -- Anantharama Sharma, Narasimha Reddy, Veera Reddy, Sudhakar Reddy and Hasham -- also spoke.
