Indian challenge ends

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 11 . Saina Nehwal's good run in the Cheers Asian Satellite Badminton Championships in Singapore came to a halt as top seed Li Li made light work of her to register a 11-3, 11-2 win in the quarterfinals of the women's singles event.

According to information received here, Sania was no match for Li, who took just 18 minutes to drub the Indian at the Singapore Badminton Hall.

Diju-Ismail lose

V. Diju and Jaseel Ismail went down fighting to third-seeded Woon Fui Lin and Mohd Fairuzizua Mohd Tazari of Malaysia in the men's doubles semifinal to bring down the curtains on India's challenge. — Agencies
