Court stays Dalmiya's elevation to Patron-in-Chief
BHOPAL,
SEPT. 11.
While imposing a stay on a move to make the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President, Jagmohan Dalmiya, the Board's Patron-in-Chief, a local court has directed issuance of notices to the BCCI, Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association and Bhopal Division Cricket Association (BDCA).
During yesterday's hearing of a plea filed by BDCA ad hoc unit member Yogesh Khattar, Civil Judge (Second Class) P.K. Nigam fixed Monday as the next date for hearing.
The petition said that, after the new post was filled, the rights of the BCCI President would be shifted to the Patron-in-Chief as part of a centralised system and this would be a violation of the BCCI's constitution. UNI
