Pandian clinches 85kg title

MUMBAI, SEPT. 11. M. Pandian of Tamil Nadu and Pardeep Singh of Madhya Pradesh clinched the men's 85 kg and the 95 kg titles respectively in the State Bank of India junior (under-20) National weightlifting championship at the Andheri Sports Club on Saturday.

The results: Men: 85 kg: 1. M. Pandian (TN) 130 +157.5 = 287.5; 2. Jitender Paliwal (MP) 125 + 152.5 = 277.5; 3. Manjit Singh (Pun) 130 + 145.5 = 277.5.

94 kg: 1. Pardeep Singh (MP) 127.5 +155 = 282.5; 2. Ruhshaad Daroga (Mah) 115 + 145 = 260; 3. Premjit Singh (Pun) 110 + 137 = 247.

Women: 69 kg: 1. P. Roni Devi (UP) 87.5 + 10 = 197.5; 2. Janeshwari Devi (Ktk) 87.5 + 105 = 192.5; 3. P. Phajaibi Devi (UP) 75. 95 = 170. 75 kg: 1. Chanchal Yadav (UP) 77.5 + 100 =177.5; 2. P. Lakshmi (AP) 77.5 + 92.5 = 170; 3. Chitra Chandramohan (Ker) 65 + 97.5 = 162.5.
