CHENNAI, SEPT. 11. The Lions Club International District 324 A 6 and Padma Sarangapani Cultural Academy conferred "Padma Vidhyasagar" on 10 school principals at a function here recently. A retired judge of the Karnataka High Court, T.N. Vallinayagam, described the teachers as dispellers of ignorance. Special secretary of the finance department, Tamil Nadu, L. Krishnan, also spoke. The principals included Mr. Ajeet Prasath Jain, Bhavan's Rajaji Vidhyashram, Mrs. Amirthavalli Sivasankar, AVM Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mrs. V. Jayanthi, Chinmaya Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mrs. Jeyanthi Manoharan, DAV Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mrs. Meena Suresh, Ballok Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mr. V. Mirasu David, St. John's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mr. P. Prabakaran, Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mr. S. Muthukrishnan, Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Mrs. Rajeshwari Menon, SBOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and Mr. T. M. Soundara Rajan, Ahobila Mutt Oriental Higher Secondary School. The principals were honoured with a citation and a Padma Jyothi (a silver lamp).
