Vijayawada
By Our Special Correspondent
VIJAYAWADA, SEPT. 11. Strongly opposing the Government's decision to introduce contributory pension scheme for employees to be recruited henceforth, the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers' (APNGOs) Association has demanded that the Government withdraw its "hasty" decision forthwith. The association, along with the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Employees, Teachers and Workers, has served an ultimatum on the Government to resolve the issue before September 17, failing which, the employees will be constrained to take "direct action."
`Hasty decision'
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the APNGOs Association president and JAC chairman, B.V. Subba Rao, said that the Government's move to introduce the contributory pension scheme "citing a similar scheme of the Central Government" was giving rise to suspicion as no such scheme was being implemented by the Centre. This only reflected the decision was hasty.
