Woman stabbed to death

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, SEPT. 11. A 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband in Ulsoor Police Station limits on Saturday.

The police said that Manjula, a teacher at Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Vidyalaya, was found dead at her house at Jogupalya Main Road with seven stab injuries in the neck, chest, and abdomen.

The murder came to light around 1 p.m.

The police suspect that Manjula's husband, Jagadish alias Jaggi, a landlord, could have murdered her.

They said that Manjula was the second wife of Jagadish and they have three children.

According to the police, Jagadish had reportedly married for the third time, and this had strained his relationship with Manjula.

Manjula had sought divorce and Jagadish had agreed for it. However, he had refused to give alimony of Rs. 2 lakhs as demanded by Manjula, the police said.

The Ulsoor police have registered a case.

A sniffer dog that was pressed into service moved around the vicinity of the house and lost sense.

Senior police officials visited the spot.
