BANGALORE, SEPT. 11. The Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell today started its rank-wise seat selection round for medical and dental seats. For most students, it was the third visit to the counselling centre. They only hoped that it would be a case of third time lucky. "We hope this will be the final round and there will be no more cancellation," said a parent. G.C. Shankar, an advocate from Chintamani, had first come for medical counselling, but went back with his son, Kranthi Kumar, as he could not afford the Rs. 1.65 lakh fee quoted by the Murgod fee panel. He returned again for engineering counselling, but now wanted a medical seat if available under the subsidised fee. "I had to spend about Rs. 1,000 per trip. Added to this is the tension of waiting," he said. His son had a medical CET rank of 1,049.
