At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 31.4 degree Celsius and the minimum was 25.6 degree Celsius respectively on Saturday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 86 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 84 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 35.0 degree Celsius and 26.8 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 79 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 69 per cent.

The minimum temperature at the Dolphin's Nose was 23.7 degree Celsius Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 96 per cent.

SBI finance cell

The State Bank of India (SBI) has opened a separate special personal banking finance cell at its new premises in Jail Road.

The cell, inaugurated recently by its general manager, Supriyo Kumar Choudhary, has set itself a target of Rs. 7 crores loans by March next year.

According to the SBI assistant general manager, R. Satyanarayana, the cell would provide swift personal loans and loans for purchase of flat, car and two-wheelers and for education. Details can be had from the cell in-charge, N.R. Subrahmanyam (Gupta), on telephone nos: 2568935 and 9849343120.

IT Week concludes

The Information Technology Week organised by the Systems Department of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) concluded on Saturday.

During the week, essay and quiz competitions for children of Ukkunagarm schools and employees and seminars on a variety of subjects, including application software, infrastructure, workflow applications, Internet and intranet, were conducted.
