Cloudy sky likely

NEW DELHI SEPT. 11. The weatherman has forecast a generally cloudy sky for the Capital on Sunday with possibility of rain or thundershowers in some areas.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Saturday were 34.8 degrees Celsius and 27.2 degrees Celsius respectively, while at Palam it was 35.2 degrees Celsius and 26.8 degrees Celsius.

The maximum relative humidity at Safdarjung and Palam was 75 per cent and 78 per cent respectively. The minimum relative humidity at Safdarjung and Palam was 48 per cent and 44 per cent respectively.

Fake currency seized

NEW DELHI SEPT. 11 . The police have arrested three persons and recovered fake 500 rupee notes totalling Rs 4,500 from them in North- East Delhi. The three accused-- Salman Hussain (23), Salim (20) and his uncle, Asif (35)-- were arrested yesterday, the police said today. During investigation, Salman and Salim revealed that the notes were given to them by Asif, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Asif said he got the currency from a man from Bihar.

Award for Dubey

NEW DELHI SEPT. 11 . Satyendra Dubey, an engineer with the national highway project killed by miscreants in Bihar, has been awarded the International Integrity Award-2004 in recognition of his ``supreme sacrifice to uphold the values of integrity in India''.

Berlin-based Transparency International, a non-government non-party organisation fighting against corruption and for transparency, integrity and accountablity, has conferred the award posthumously on Mr Dubey.

Teams to nab dacoits

NEW DELHI SEPT. 11. Police teams have been dispatched to several cities to arrest those involved in September 9 robbery at Sector 9 in Noida in which two people were shot dead and five wounded.

Teams have been dispatched to several cities in the State, including Sikanderabad and Bulandshahr, on the basis of initial information gathered, the Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Bijay Kumar Garg, supervising the operation, said.
