Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan's statement that "None can stop quota in private sector" (Sept. 10). If one section is given preferential treatment over others, it will amount to social injustice. We have had a caste-based quota system for over 50 years but what have we achieved? That many private companies have taken government loans cannot be a reason to force reservation on them.
R. Anuradha Rajappa,
* * * Sir, The Government bailed out sick public sector units through privatisation. But when the same fate befalls the private sector as a result of reservation, where will the companies go?
Appukuttan Prasad,
