Beslan killings

Sir, — The Beslan tragedy is an outcome of the continuing hostility between Russia and the U.S. in the post-Cold War era.

Considering that the U.S. is the world's economic and military superpower, its support is important for tackling terrorism.

Shades of double standards and inconsistency in its policy on the issue, if not neutralised by an even minded approach, will only fuel the flames of the menace.

Aravind Sridhar,
New Delhi
